Green or Greed

Why suddenly the need to favor one over the other? It's IT that seems to justify greed as good. Good grief, it's one of the 7 deadly sins. Well, all the greedy seem to admit they're sinners. And greed seems to make the world tic. It's myopic to ever say that greed is better. For a time a greedy life seems good. It's not, what happens when everything is used up. What's left for the next generation? As greed they say is good, greedy solutions to problems caused by greed are imposed. E.g., People should limit the use of cars. Not for greedy Vips, on the first place, they can afford. How could poor and hungry people know greed? They live by the day. They know people being greedy somewhere. They caused all these poverty and hunger. Bloated faces and bellies, piercing eyes, arrogance, profligacy, display of power and wealth. Are these good? For the greedy, these are very good till they land in ICU.

Green on the other hand is always a step ahead of greed. There was paradise first before man and woman were created. God said go and multiply and subdue the earth. Subdue, not ravish or plunder everything in sight. We are tasked to be mother earth's caretaker. We are stepping on her, yes, but it doesn't mean we can trample on her and kill all the trees and the wild plants and animals seeking sanctuary. We converted forests to cities, to pineapple, banana, coconut, plantations. We're logging as if there's no flora and fauna co-existing with us who are dependent on rainforest. The steps recommended by the UN to control global warming are too creative. Laypeople like me are disappointed. There's no mention about preservation of rainforest or stop of logging operations at least in critical areas. Well, UN says deforestation does not cause floods. It follows that it also believes that greed is better than green. UN wants CO2 to be buried in mother earth's womb. Trees can do better than that. They transform CO2 to O2. "Why green is being swept under the rug" and UN believing more on scientists' complicated grasp of global warming is what boggles the mind.
