SUVs and SOBs
The service utility vehicles in the power, water, transport, communications, food, housing, and other sectors controlled by government and big business, in cahoots with the SOBs are taking us the people for a ride. We remain oppressed, apathetic, glued to the soaps that are dished out everyday by the same SOBs. And so some dreamy, different, talented people in our own midst, become pastors, gambling and drug lords, boxers, actors, politicians, etc., to co-opt with the people in power to further burden us the unwashed, hand-to-mouth existing yet obedient poor citizens of this benighted land. Something gotta give. We go out to land the lowest kind of jobs in other countries just to get that elusive dollar. We rob banks. We deal and use drugs. We gamble. But more often we die without a fight. Caught in firefights. Waylaid by disasters. And yet we can afford to smile. One shining moment. Our smiles betray what we are really feeling deep inside us. A smile of surrender. Of course a smile means a lot. It says these heinous people are just temporary. Someday a man pure of heart will just save us like a Moses or Jesus that would come back. Meanwhile, the mess continues. If we don't start with ourselves. Bangon na noypi.
