Crumbling

feet of clay start to crumble
no one builds a house on sand
one mighty storm will sweep it away
there are wires and poles
and the house is still hanging
while the base is crumbling fast
owners of house will soon fly
or fall and leave the crumbling house
next occupants should make sure
the house they'd build
better stands on solid ground
if they'd care to know the past
pretenders should be punished
if not then the house
is just as unstable as before
wanted a wise housekeeper
O God send him fast

Next Trial Please

people are deliriously excited
can't wait for the next big one
as this may just occur any day from now
with the ship leaking very slowly
the rats still nibbling busily
captain's steering wobbly
with the ex-captain disposed of cleanly
but tomorrow is another story
better hang on to your choice seats
as the circus unfolds a preview
of the next trial to end all trials
the stench is in the air
it will spread all over the globe
climate change can wait
abandon ship will be the command
but the captain's sticking it out
till the last minute
because the gods whisper it so

In Cahoots In Trouble

get the usual suspects and spin the story
the people will be agog and then drowsy
as it would be the same running soap
from the rusting breaking public coop
this cannot end as long as the elite's up there
we better change ruling class to another

or we'll just endure this eternal misery
it's funny it's not the poor's monopoly
everybody feels each numbing stroke
of a dream that's gone gory and broke
no one has claimed the name of a true leader
