The Deceived

For some quite a time we ordinary pinoys have been deceived. Because of our water buffalo like nature, the deceivers have been with us since the time our land was accidentally discovered. Our country is owned by cheats for as long as they can cheat without shame. For them we owe our well-being if they remain at the helm steering this benighted country to perdition. And so we have been led through deceit after deceit. As we are humble and meek, we just let them, we turn the other cheek. We can tow a long line for survival. If there's no more supply, we wait hopelessly and die. The deceivers for a moment seem to be breaking their neck to come out heroes against all odds. We the deceived keep on believing them even we know their hearts are of the devil. For that's our very nature always willing to sacrifice just so we could live in peace. We welcome some tokens till they run out. We believe our land of plenty. There will always be a way to save us from all anxieties that we believe always. That is why thieves, liars, and cheats abound in our corner of the earth. We just let them go crazy ruling over us. They would pardon their own and we adulate their hypocrisy. Because we know we are wisely gifted to know that that they would just be dead like us in the end. And they arrogantly think so that they can own this country and the seemingly idiotic natives without any punishment from the gods. But we natives know all along that they are just as laughable as mad as crazy as the fools who crucified the One who said to turn the other cheek or love your enemy. So we keep on towing the line including our children who believe with wide smiling eyes that the leaders will soon die too sadly as they pass over the chance to live the truth.
